Weddings Feedback: A big awards style banquet bash with gold decorations everywhere!
Weddings Feedback: I helped out with my grandparent’s 50th party. We served a decorated white cake (in place of wedding cake) with their names and the date they were married/current date. A chocolate cake was offered also, along with the traditional mints and punch.
Me and my cousins made a photo collage on a bulletin board, with my grandparents’ oldest pictures in the middle, their kids’ early pictures on the outside of that, and on the very edge were the grandkids. It may not sound like much, but we were proud of it.
Good luck!
Weddings Feedback: I just say everyone pitch in money and let them go on a cruise.
Weddings Feedback: My parents had their 50th wedding anniversary party given by me last May. It turned out great.
1) Give a lovely speech to your parents in front of a crowd. I would make copies of your speech to the people since some of them may be hard of hearing. Otherwise, they may not hear what you are saying and will unable to enjoy it.
2) Create a slide show (wedding pictures, family photos, vacation trips, etc) by using Photo Story 3 for Windows with 50’s music background and formatted it onto a DVD so everyone can see it at the party. We used a rented projector that was hooked up on a laptop computer. (Using a laptop alone is another optional). My parents loved it. I made several copies of that DVD to be given to their friends and relatives who wanted them.
3) Their favorite restaurant to provide a party room and foods.
4) A wedding photo of your mom and dad on a stand near their cake.
5) If your parents do not want any gifts, you can put on a invitation saying, “Your presence is the only gift we request” or you can say “Your presence will be greatly appreciated. No gifts, please”.
Good Luck!
Weddings Feedback: If you have at least 50 guest make a list of 50 things (why they are still together, why they are so great - it depends of the couple, it can be humorous or serious) and have each person read one thing.
Or you can have one picture for each year and someone saying something about that year!
Congrats to them!!!!
Weddings Feedback: We planned a 50th wedding anniversary for my granparents. First we contacted all of the out of state relatives andg ave them PLENTY of time to plan on comming! We made all of the food ourselves- and my grandparents arent into drinking- so they requested no alcohol if we did anything! So we just did punches etc… we rented the firemans hall (my grandfather was a fireman and captain) and held it there. My grandmother LOVES the symphony- so we ‘rented’ a quartet from the sympahny who played for an hour- everyone loved dancing to them- it was awsesome. we didnt hire a dj- i just made a bunch of cd’s and put them in the halls 100 disc cd player on random. I just googled love songs- that were popular in ALL decades- to appeal to the younger ones and also to the older ones. We spent the day with my grandma and had he rmakeup done and hair done- and we jsut had an awesome party. It was very inexpesive and low key- there were a lot of people there- but my grandparents loved it! They had such a great time mingling with everyone…. Also- we took a Big picture frame and had is specially matted- (it’s like 5 feet long and 3 feet high) and on the left side put in an 8 X10 of a picture we had englarged from their wedding day and on the right side we put a current picture of them together. Then we left out aciud free black markers at the party- and everyone got to write them a message and sign their names. THEY LOVED IT SO STINKEN MUCH. and it still hangs in their house- i love reading it still.. it’s so great!
Weddings Feedback: When my grandparents had their 50th wedding anniversary, it was 20 some years ago. The only thing they wanted was friends and family, wonderful dinner. My grandparent were ranchers, more down to earth. I found a gift website that is great!! (for anything-already given one to my mom, check it out)
Grandparents would dig on this !!!
Weddings Feedback: For my friends parents 30th aniversary we took a photo of thier wedding cake to a cake shop and had them remake it. We even put there old wedding topper on it! it was wonderful. My fiances sister made a scrap book for her grandparents 50th. They loved that too!
