Can you answer iamme1984’s question about Weddings?:
hello i decided to use lanterns for a centerpiece they are about 6 inches tall and they have little doors that open up to put a candle inside they are silver and the other ones are white and we bought a couple dark almost black ones, the idea is to put the lanterns on the table and then light them and then also put some rose petals around the bottom and a couple strewn out onto the table this is all we were going to put on the tables but i wonder if its to simple…is this a boring idea. on the reserved tables for the parents and a couple other people there are ice buckets with roses and wine in them for the toast, it is a mexican wedding so there are godparents that give us money and we thought it would be nice to put something differnt on there tables…is the different things on the tables going to make it look stupid or will people even notice? any ideas to help the tables are long tables not round. ok thanks!

Weddings Feedback: Truthfully, people will not notice any difference.
It will lookl beautiful.
Weddings Feedback: I think that sounds BEAUTIFUL! What a wonderful idea!
Weddings Feedback: I thin k they are to small. You will something taller to compliment them. They are going to get lost on a table for 6-8 people.
Weddings Feedback: That sounds very nice to me. Nicer than mine!
Edit: Contrary to what mdsalas says, you DON’T want tall centerpieces. They obscure everyone’s view of other people at the table - they have a hard time talking to each other, and some people won’t be able to see you and your new hubby at the head table!
Weddings Feedback: I have some of those lanterns and I love them!
However, before your reception, try out the lanterns with candles lit inside. On mine, the tops of the lanterns and the loop handle on top get VERY hot - hot enough to burn. You would think that people would be smart enough not to touch a metal thing that has a candle in, but guess what, they’re not. I loaned my lanterns to a friend for a birthday party and two people (one adult and one child) burned themselves.
Weddings Feedback: I think you have a very good concept, and it will blend in very nicely. The reserved tables should stand out a bit. Good Luck, and may you have a very happy , long marriage.
Weddings Feedback: The only addition I would add would be to put small square or round mirrors under the lanterns. This would illuminate the tables even more you could also place a few tealights around them too but otherwise I think it’s pretty. By adding a colored napkin (in one of your wedding colors) it would also make the tables more visually interesting.http://www.flickr.com/photos/mishkadesigns/1508342376/in/set-72157602272441021/

best wishes…………………
Weddings Feedback: In one of the links that bbbarra put up it shows some pictures of the couple scattered on the table. I think that would be a really cool addition to the table. Some extra votives would be nice also, but I don’t think you need anything else. I’m sure everything will turn out beautifully.
Weddings Feedback: The lanterns are a great idea. If you want to gussy them up, maybe there’s a place to put silk flowers on them. And having different things on different tables is just fine.
Tables get so full with the place settings, that you really don’t need much!
Weddings Feedback: Actually, using different decorations on each table is a great idea. My florist said that if you have a single arrangement on every table, it doesn’t make the room look as “full” as if you have several arrangements, even if they are smaller.
My florist suggested 2-3 arrangements of different heights, but I think different colors will work well too. It will look very nice. One way to dress it up would be to add a little overlay on the table cloth. Maybe a piece of translucent silver fabric?
Putting something special on the padrinos tables is a great way to honor them. You should specifically call them out in the program, too.
