What was your favorite food served at a wedding reception?

Can you answer bewareofunicorns’s question about Weddings?:

I’m planning a wedding for October 2009 and would like to have original food available that guests will remember. What was you favorite (or even least favorite) wedding reception food?

Weddings Feedback: The desserts- the little chocolate candies or other small cakes, petit fours, etc that are on the dessert table.

Weddings Feedback: Fried chicken - it was a laid back wedding reception and I loved that. The whole thing was done buffet style. It had normal food you’d find at a country restaurant.

Weddings Feedback: Chocolate fountain with LOTS of fresh strawberries. I also like shrimp cocktail.

Weddings Feedback: Steamed vegetables and fresh fruit platters. I used to work at a wedding reception/banquet place, and that was always my favorite thing!

Weddings Feedback: Venetian dessert table. Little cups made of white chocolate, dark chocolate, and caramel, to be filled from a selection of dessert liquers - Kahlua, Grand Marnier, etc. It must have cost a fortune, and I’ll never forget it.

Weddings Feedback: I really enjoyed the chicken bites. They were hot, bbq, regular… Then the veggie trays had some nice things on there with the ranch, and Cheeseballs were the bomb. Then of course, the desserts were so yummy ^_^

For my Wedding, I’m doing a small dessert buffet next to my foods. I’m making chocolate dipped/drizzled fruits, oreo truffels and chocolate truffels(VERY easy to make, go to kraftfoods.com and allrecipes.com) and then there’s other things I’m buying like cupcakes and yummy pasteries.

for the food, we’re doing meat/veggie/fruit trays, General Tso’s chicken bites, BBq Chicken bites, mini hamburgers, cheeseballs, and a few other things.

Weddings Feedback: I’m a picker, so I love cocktail hour and the variety of appetizers.

Second to that is a good Venetian Table with a chocolate fountain and assorted Italian goodies.

Weddings Feedback: For me it was a chicken cordon bleu (i’ll be having this option in my wedding too). I loved it because i only eat chicken they had filet mignon and salmon in the same reception and I ordered the chicken. It was done delicious. What i didn’t like was In the same wedding a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer I don’t eat shrimp so even though i bet bride and groom spend alot of money on those appetizers i didn’t even touch mine. I also love the chocolate fountain but with white chocolate.

Weddings Feedback: My favourite is Ukrainian weddings, so there are perogies, cabbage rolls, turkey/ham/sausage, all the fixings, etc. Just a nice buffet.
Otherwise a buffet with carved roast beef and another main meat; variety of other things in a buffet.

Weddings Feedback: I don’t go to weddings or funerals, they depress me. The last reception I attended I believe had something which now evades me…although it must have been good, because I actually ate. Sorry I could not have helped more!

Weddings Feedback: My wedding is coming up and I’m thoroughly stoked about my mashed potato martini bar!

Weddings Feedback: I would probably say the cake is my favorite part. Usually I can cook the same stuff they serve at weddings, but I can definitley not make a cake like the ones they serve! Yummy!
