What should a personal attendant wear to the wedding?

Can you answer learn_4_life’s question about Weddings?:
I’ve been asked to be the personal attendant for my cousin’s wedding. Is there anything specific I should wear to the wedding–should I coordinate colors to the wedding colors? Can I wear jeans and a nice jacket during the day and then change into matching pants and heels for the wedding? I want to be comfortable but look nice, too.

Weddings Feedback: What will your duties be in the wedding? Whenever someone in the bridal party is in doubt about what to wear, there’s one person you ask. The bride to be. She will tell you what she wants you to wear.
And I would seriously doubt jeans would be appropriate wedding attire, unless this is a very casual wedding.
Weddings Feedback: Ask the bride what she wants you to wear. I never heard of a personal attendant outside of a maid of honor or a bridesmaid for the bride or an usher or best man for the groom.
Weddings Feedback: What are you talking about? Is your cousin disabled in some way and needs that sort of personal attendant? If so you are to dress as any other guest at the wedding would. If there is something that you need to wear or to make accomodations for to do the job then you make that as nice looking as you can. Jeans is a no no and there is no need to coordinate to the wedding party unless that is what your cousin wants
If you mean something else please tell us because that is all I could think of from what you posted.
Weddings Feedback: I would ask the bride. But I really doubt jeans would ever be considered appropriate. You probably don’t need to “match” the wedding, but you should avoid clashing. Just talk to the bride.

Weddings Feedback: I’m sorry, I have never heard of a personal attendant for a wedding. Does she mean you are going to run around and fetch and carry for her?
I would ask her what it is she wants you to do, and what you should wear.
Weddings Feedback: The jeans and jacket during the day sounds ok, but only if you’re positive you’ll have time to change. You’d hate to miss the processional or else show up in jeans because there was no time to change. If you don’t have comfy heels then wear sneakers during the day and change into your heels for the wedding and reception. You’re probably not expected to match the wedding colours, but check with the bride on that one.
